DESCRIPTION

Afro Caribbean Fusion is a high energy choreography class rooted in traditional and popular African and Caribbean dances!! This 50min class is open to any body that wants to experience full JOY through movement.

The Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts is located near the corner of 14th and Alice Streets in downtown Oakland. Parking is challenging in this bustling city center. Taking public transportation or using your favorite ride sharing app to and from the venue is recommended.

Mulu "Queen Mega" Senshaw is a dancer from Washington, DC, by way of Ethiopia! She joined Diamano Coura in 2016 and has been training and performing with the company throughout the Bay Area and more recently, in Senegal, West Africa. She earned her BA in Dance from San Francisco State University in 2020 which includes studying abroad at Edna Manley College in Kingston, Jamaica. She has performed at events and festivals such as Dance Africa DC, Dance Africa Philadelphia, Collage des Cultures Africaines, and Oakland First Fridays. Mulu teaches a pop-up choreography class called Afro-Caribbean Fusion that pulls from African and Caribbean popular and traditional dances forms and is danced to Soca music! Mulu is passionate about black dance, music, and culture and is excited to help share black culture through dance!
