Class will focus on the fundamentals of heels dance. Whether you're an experienced dancer or this is your first class, the goal is to build and strengthen your skillset while nurturing your creativity and self-expression. We'll begin with a follow along center warm up and then move across the floor. Prioritizing bevels, balance, posture, walking, isolations, turns, and floor work, we will end with a combination and cool-down. By the end of class, you will not only be able to add these movements to your vocabulary, but with a curious and open-minded approach, you may discover new ways to take up and explore your space and connection to self. What does it look like to hold space for you, for each other? What does it feel like to embody and embrace your essence? What does it mean to you to show up for yourself in this way? All gender identities and BIPOC folks are encouraged to join. Instructor subject to change without notice.

You are welcome to wear a mask, some teachers will still wear a mask but not require all students to wear masks, and masks will also be optional in the lobby, dressing rooms, and common spaces. This policy applies to all SADC locations. SADC has spare masks available at the front desk but suggest still bringing a mask in case there is a last-minute sub or change. If you or your child is immunocompromised and we were not aware of this, please connect with us to further discuss masking needs in particular classes. Reach out to Associate Director of Operations Bianca Cabrera at bianca@shawl-anderson.org or (510) 654-5921. If there is a SUB for a class who requests that all students wear masks, we will note this in the class title and description. SADC is no longer sending out Covid Exposure Notices. Important note: this Masking Policy Update is subject to change at any time.
