Kiazi Malonga is a master drummer, choreographer, cultural bearer, and child prodigy of Congolese traditional arts. Raised in Oakland, California, he began playing Ngoma at age two under the guidance of his father, the legendary Malonga Casquelourd. By age 16, he became lead drummer for Fua Dia Congo and has since taught and performed internationally. Kiazi’s classes offer a powerful immersion in the rhythms, movement, and cultural context of Congolese drum and dance traditions. With a dynamic teaching style and deep respect for the lineage he represents, he invites students to connect through rhythm, rootedness, and community.
