Umfundalai is a contemporary African dance technique that comprises its movement vocabulary from dance traditions throughout the Diaspora designed for contemporary class settings. The class introduces the fundamentals of the Umfundalai technique including progressions of specific traditional dances and repertory accessible to all levels. Class begins with warm-up in African dance foundations in the center, followed by across the floor progressions, and organically evolves into choreography.
