Started in 1980 by Deborah Slater, Studio 210 is a dance studio and DIY art space in San Francisco, CA. Housed in the old Sear's building, Studio 210 is managed by and serves as the main rehearsal studio for Deborah Slater Dance Theater, along with hosting a variety of classes, rehearsals, and performances by local artists. In addition to offering rental space, Studio 210 offers a bi-annual residency program (Winter & Summer) that lets artists dive into the creative process and focus on developing new performance work. Each cycle, the Studio 210 Residency program selects two artists or ensembles to receive 8 weeks of rehearsal space, professional mentorship, an artist stipend, and two evenings of culminating performances and discussion.
